• If you have diabetes it is important to attend the local NHS screening clinic
• Screening looks for eye problems associated with diabetes such as diabetic retinopathy
• Diabetic retinopathy can cause sight loss if untreated
• Sight loss may be prevented if diabetic retinopathy is diagnosed and treated in the early stages
• Treated using laser surgery
• As well as attending retinopathy screening you should have regular eye examinations
