Retinal Detachment

• Retina pulls away from the back of the eye
• Sudden increase in floaters and/or seeing flashes of light can indicate retinal detachment
• Eye health history and age can affect risk of retinal detachment
• Retinal detachment is serious and should be treated as a matter of extreme urgency
• If getting symptoms contact optometrist or hospital eye casualty department as soon as possible
